Dear patient,
Due to the Corona virus, or Covid 19 Pandemic, and in the best interests of our patients and staff, we have had to suspend online face to face bookings as per guidance from NHS England. We are also moving over to a telephone triage system.
This means that if you wish to be seen, you need to discuss the reasons for this with a doctor before an appointment can be made. You will be able to book a telephone appointment with one of the doctors either by contacting reception, or by booking online. We appreciate that this change will have an impact on ease of access and we are grateful for your patience as we try to navigate this pandemic as safely as possible.
Please be aware that we will be triaging ALL face to face appointments with doctors, including routine reviews, antenatal care and postnatal care for example. We want to make sure that the appointment requested is absolutely necessary and safe before booking it. We will also be changing our opening hours to 0800-1830 every day.
Please note that if you develop any cough OR fever, please self-isolate immediately as per Public Health England Guidance (link below). Please DO NOT attend the surgery, as this puts others at risk. You will be asked to leave as we will not be able to help. If you feel very unwell, or have difficulty breathing, we can arrange a telephone or video consultation with you, or alternatively you can contact NHS 111. Please be aware that it is now a criminal offence to attend the surgery if you suspect you are infected with Covid 19. Please do not contact the surgery for a fit note as the NHS 111 disposition will be proof for your employer, and all employers are being asked to use common sense. You legally must be allowed to self-certify for 7 days.
You may wish to use DoctorLink or the facilities on our practice website to find out if you do need to be seen during this period.
Thank you,
Merton Medical Practice
