The Practice offers Knee and Shoulder Joint Injections
The surgery offers a free and discreet Chlamydia Screening service and suggest all sexually active 15-24 year olds take advantage of this service to avoid potential medical problems later in life.
The service is of course open to all patients, irrespective of age.
Ante-natal checks can booked at any time as long as there is a doctor and nurse available.
Patients are reminded to bring a fresh urine sample with them.
Eight week baby checks are done by all GPs at the Practice, during normal surgery hours.
The practice now offers a Domiciliary blood test service for housebound patients who are registered at the practice, as well as an in-house blood test service, by appointment only.
Postnatal checks are done at eight weeks. Mother and baby are checked by the doctor. To save two visits, your baby will be immunised at the same time by one of our practice nurses.
Please state when making your appointment that the visit is for the eight week check.

Contraceptive care is provided by the doctors. The practice nurses are able to provide repeat prescriptions for the pill, give contraceptive injections and fit/remove implanon

Non-NHS Examinations (Private Services)
The doctors are happy to carry out medical examinations e.g. for insurance purposes or driving licence. Any request will be process within 21 days but, please, bear in mind that our main priority is patient care; please be patient.

Travel Immunisations and Vaccinations (Private-Non NHS Service)
Please make an appointment at least eight weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception.

Yellow Fever Vaccinations
Merton Medical Practice is now an authorised yellow fever vaccination centre. A fee is payable for this vaccine.
Wrinkle Reduction Injections (Botulinum Toxin) - (Private-Non NHS Service)
The Practice now offers Wrinkle Reduction Injections to our patients and also to patients from other surgeries. These use Botulinum Toxin, a substance widely used to make line and wrinkles, such as crow's feet and frown lines, less obvious and give you a more youthful look.

The Meron Expert Patient Programme
“The Merton Expert Patients Programme is a free, self-management course that supports people living with, or caring for someone with, one or more long-term health and/or mental health conditions. The course(s) offers a tool-kit of techniques to enable you to manage your condition better on a daily basis, by increasing your confidence and quality of life. Each course consists of 12 to 16 people and are led by tutors who have long-term conditions themselves. To attend a course you must either live, work or be registered with a GP in Merton.”
